What do I need to rent a car?
To book your car, all you need is a credit or debit card.

Can I book a rental car for someone else?
Yes, as long as they meet these requirements. Just fill in their details while you’re making the reservation.

What should I look for when choosing a car?
Space: You’ll enjoy your rental far more if you choose a car with plenty of room for your passengers and luggage. Fuel policy: Not planning on driving much? A Full to Full fuel policy can save you a lot of money. Location: You can’t beat an ‘on-airport’ pickup for convenience, but an ‘off-airport’ pick-up with a shuttle bus can be much cheaper.

Are there any age restrictions?
Yes, there are certain restrictions. Some ASAP Cars partner companies do not rent to drivers under the age of 25. Other rental companies will accept young drivers for an extra fee. Please make sure you read the rental rules and restrictions of a specific rental company before making a reservation.

What to do if I haven't received reservation confirmation?
You should receive a confirmation of your reservation within 48 hours via email. Please check if the email haven't accidentally went to the spam folder. If you haven’t received it, please contact us.

Payment policy

Are all fees included in the rental price?
The vast majority of our rentals include Theft Protection, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), local taxes, airport surcharges and any road fees. You'll pay for any 'extras' when you pick up your car, along with any young driver, additional driver or one-way fees. However, we'll explain any additional costs before you book the car (and taking your own child seats or GPS can be an easy way to reduce your costs). For more details on what's included, just check the Ts&Cs of any car you're looking at.

What is car rental deposit?
Rental companies invariably require a mechanism to have a security deposit in case of damage, fines or even failure to return a car. The amount of the deposit depends on the selected rental category. In general, credit card authorization of a security deposit amount plus the amount due for the rental will be taken as an authorization for security purposes. The security deposit amount held is not usually fixed in your contract and the funds may remain tied up for weeks (or a couple of months) after you return the vehicle. If having part of your credit card limit held may impact some other part of your holiday plans, you should check with the rental agency.

How to change a reservation?
You can change your reservation online on ASAP Cars website. Simply login to “My Reservation” section by entering your reservation number and email address, then click edit and perform necessary changes.

How to cancel a reservation?
You can cancel a reservation using the link in your confirmation email or by contacting the car rental company directly. Please check your contract for cancellation policy and fees that may apply.

How to add additional equipment, such as GPS or child seat?
Additional equipment can be added upon making a reservation online or afterwards by contacting the car rental company directly using the phone number provided in the confirmation email and the rental agreement.

Car Pick Up

Which documents do I need to bring for pickup?
When you pick up the rental car, you’ll need: +Your voucher / eVoucher, as a proof of payment. +Main driver’s credit / debit card, with enough available funds for the car’s deposit. +Each driver’s full, valid driving license, which they’ve held for at least 12 months (often 24). +Your passport and any other ID the car rental company requires. Different car rental companies have different requirements, so please make sure you check the car’s terms and conditions carefully.

Will I need to leave a deposit when picking up the car?
The majority of car rental companies require a deposit upon car pickup. The deposit will be held on your credit card and released in full when you drop it off in the same condition as it was when you received it. Deposit amounts will vary depending on the rental company.

During the Rental Period

What to do in the event of an accident or breakdown?
You should immediately inform the car rental company using the phone number specified in the contract. If a third-party is involved, you should also contact local police.

Can someone else drive my rental car?
Yes, but only in case additional driver is listed on the rental contract and an extra fee was paid upon car pickup.

Is cross-border travel allowed?
In many cases car rental companies allow cross-border travel, but it can be subject to additional fees. Any fees will have to be paid upon car pickup in local currency. ASAP Cars will specify whether cross-border travel is allowed and in which countries at the time of booking under rental conditions.

Car Drop Off

Do I have to return the vehicle with a full tank?
ASAP Cars partners provide cars with a full tank of fuel and they must be returned with a full tank as well. If you fail to do so, additional charges specified in the rental agreement will apply.

Can I drop off the car to a different location?
Car rental companies may offer one-way rentals between select locations, but in this case a one-way fee will apply.

Can I return the car early?
There is no penalty for returning your car early. However, you may not be eligible for a refund. Please specify car drop off policy of your selected car rental company.

Can I return the car after hours?
Some car rental offices allow after-hours drop off. Please check if your chosen location is among them.

What if I return the car late?
If you return the car later than the scheduled return time, you may be charged an additional fee.
